LRF joined the Inter-District Traditional Leaders Bandla in Mutare under the #ZimACE project, tackling barriers to birth registration for children born out of wedlock. Chiefs& leaders engaged on legal gaps and cultural norms that hinder children from accessing birth certificates

Starting off the week with #consistency. #Focus is on strengthening local environmental plans and promoting their implementation!
This week we are excited to kick off our District multi-stakeholder dialogue meeting in Zvishavane under the #ZIMACE project.
Together with stakeholders from various sectors including @EMAeep, Runde RDC, @forestrycom1, we are tackling emerging challenges in districts affected by mining environmental impacts.

This week we are implementing the #ZIMACE project in pursuit of lasting impact in Mutoko, Mberengwa, and Zvishavane where communities are affected by mining activities.
In collaboration with @EMAeep, @MinistryMines, and RDCs in Mberengwa, Mutoko, and Runde, we are training community monitors, ward environmental committees and sub committees on environmental governance. Our target is positive change through:
✅ Improving knowledge on environmental management legislation and fostering collective action among Environmental Committees and Sub-committees.
✅ Enhancing the capacity of environmental monitors to effectively monitor and report environmental issues in their respective areas.
✅ Strengthening Ward environmental management plans and District Environmental Action Plans to tackle emerging environmental challenges.
✅ Promoting the implementation of natural resources and conservation by-laws through dissemination and awareness campaigns.
We're optimistic that these efforts will bring about significant improvements, including:
✅ Expanded knowledge on environmental management legislation and collective action for Environmental Committees and Sub-committees.
✅ Strengthened Ward environmental management plans, Local Environmental Action Plans (LEAPs), and District Environmental Action Plans.
✅Heightened community monitoring initiatives for enhanced environmental protection.
