The #Puntland government has officially entered the preparation phase of Operation Onkod, a major new military campaign targeting the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda and currently hiding in the Almadow mountains.
As part of the first phase of the operation:
▪️ The first military brigade, named #Hanqar, has been deployed from #Mudug to strategic positions,
▪️ Logistics and supply lines are being established,
▪️ Intelligence gathering is in full swing,
▪️ And local community mobilisation and training initiatives are underway.
