Nomination Alert๐
'Africa's Race to 2040,' one of our documentaries produced in collaboration with the @AfricanIIJ under the #ARMAProgramme, was nominated for the Uganda Film Festival held by @UCC_Official in the category of Best Documentary. It was a masterpiece!
It explored local vaccine manufacturing in Africa through the perspectives of practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders. It also examined African governments' implementation of the PAVM framework.

Prof. @KaleebuPontiano, @UVRIug:
Africa needs to continue all efforts to strengthen our vaccine and pharmaceuticals manufacturing in the continent using Afrocentric approaches. National approaches alone might not take us too far.

Together with #ARMAProgramme partners, we held a meeting to take stock of year 1 of the Programme, and plan for ways in which to leverage the successes achieved in advancing regional vaccine manufacturing on the continent. Milestones across five interventions: Strategic Advocacy, Campaign Engagements and Regional Convenings; Evidence Generation; Strategic Partnerships; and Capacity Enhancement of African NGOs and individuals were highlighted. Partners were resolute on the role of CSOs in supporting African governments, policymakers and technocrats in developing relevant policy and legal frameworks, as well as on following up on commitments aimed at advancing vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

How extensively have you translated your promises into actions?
A number of commitments were made by governments during the COVID period to improve availability and access to medical oxygen, great investments were made.

โ The situation in Kakamega might be a replica of what's happening across Africa. In Kenya, we have equipment lying in our facilities because either #1 they need servicing #2 the supplier is the only onr who can service it. #3. there are no skilled people to operate them.โ
