@TMP_FreEd shares with @BTLNMeck about how to help educators better connect with students who don’t speak English as their first language. It’s not just about translating your newsletter. #btlnnc

@CarteretJill A3) Communication w/ parents changes EVERYTHING about relationships w/students. We have to earn the right to be heard by parents and students. When kids see a respectful relationship between parents and teachers, I have seen a MAJOR change in behavior and work ethic. #BTLNNC

@Mrs_Schimizzi @CarteretJill @cafurrelem Last week, students came in and completed a sticky note to post on the board to share Midweek Motivation with peers. We shared with parents so they could see how we are encouraging each other in the classroom! #BTLNNC

Yes! @parish_laura reminds us that school absenteeism is a big piece of family engagement. Making space for families to reach out about their child's absences is a great way to open communication. #BTLNNC - do any of you have ways to communicate when your students are absent?

Great advice from @parish_laura - sit at the same side of the table with family members during a conference - not across from them. Great advice for our #BTLNNC cohort!
