#COMM316 @RoseannPluretti Even though Roche speaking out is an important advance of support, why is it that once a man (SCWAMP checklist fulfilled) reinforces the victim we are more likely to believe her? Men’s voices seem to be prioritized even on progressive media platforms
"As Brett's roommate, I'm in a singular position ... to say, 'listen, I saw him do this stuff that he said, under oath, that he didn't do.'" Jamie Roche, Kavanaugh's freshman Yale roommate, explains his reasoning for coming forward at this time https://t.co/3ArNVeLZkL

It is really interesting how Dean talks about the French word meme being used in place of the word "same." The purpose of most memes is to draw an image referring to a relatable topic or idea so it makes a lot of sense #COMM316
@kvriibaby @Elich_Comm316 I agree. I think the bias is in the way the bot ‘exemplifies an ideal of male attractiveness’ and in ‘their aesthetic and their vocabulary’ (‘what is considered desirable’) rather than who they choose to target. #COMM316
@darbyphilbrick Not embrace the negative messages, but parody/ satirize them rather than censor them #comm316

The Instafame article reminds me of the photo of the DoomedManOnSubwayTracks. Our obsession of immortalizing the moment through a picture comes at the cost of truly experiencing that moment, and in this case, desensitizes us to prioritize online activity over real life #COMM316
Although a vast majority are not POC, “microcelebrity” and “Instafame” has allowed for more representation in media. #COMM316
