Doctor here. If you show up with a massive binder full of notes and letters and so forth, nine times out of ten we just assume you're insane.

Doctor: If you had all those symptoms, the problem would be very complex. I don't deal with complex problems, therefore you don't have all these symptoms. Here is the number of a psychologist who can help you to stop believing yourself.
@larrynannery @MindyBeeArt @WitchWoodIand It would take quite a bit of training, but I think it can help. One of my friends with #ComplexMedical needs has had at least three advocates who didn't work out for various reasons. But with better training and a 90% reduction in ableism, it's a good idea.
Wish more providers did workups with this in mind. As an RN, I've sat with many patients who sobbed as I held their hands not because they rec'd a challenging diagnosis but because they finally rec'd one. ๐
