On July 22, a devastating cloudburst in Danyore triggered a flash flood that completely destroyed the drinking water and irrigation systems in the Manogah area of Danyore, Gilgit. According to locals, the prolonged crisis forced the community to take matters into their own hands. Without external assistance and heavy machinery, they crossed dangerous terrain to bring water back to their drought-affected lands. Tragically, in the early hours of August 11, while volunteers were working, a landslide struck them, resulting in the martyrdom of eight volunteers and injuries to 4–5 others. #GB #gilgit #skardu #hunza #Ghizer #Astore #kharmung #Shigar #Diamer #Ghanche #Nagar #gilgitbaltistan #sultanabad #landslide
