New tutorial: How to measure end-to-end latency on #Databento’s real-time feed using our embedded PTP timestamps and public time service.
It's difficult to measure latency in public cloud environments. Most vendors use exchange timestamps or round-trip pings as reference, which don't accurately reflect feed latency.
By exposing nanosecond precision, PTP-synced capture timestamps, and a public clock synced to the same PTP source, we make it possible to measure feed latency accurately, anywhere—without needing specialized infrastructure.
