Bangladesh: Khadijatul Kubra, a 20-year-old university student, has been in pre-trial detention for over a year under the now-repealed draconian Digital Security Act (DSA), for hosting a webinar in 2020. She was arrested two years later on 27 August 2022. Though she was 17 years old at the time of the webinar, she was prosecuted as an adult. Her health is now deteriorating, and her bail applications were rejected repeatedly. Khadija's next bail hearing will be scheduled after 10th November. Khadija should be in university, studying for her degree, not in jail waiting for her fate to be decided under a draconian law.
