Not sufficient care out there to meet everyones needs so they wait in hospital until it is and they can be safely discharged
Sadly with current state of the NHS there have genuinely been case where the timeline was disastrously different.

#FairPayForNursing is not just about wages.
It’s not A&E performance - it’s NHS system performance.
Our biggest problem is patient flow thru the system. If the ED is full we have little space to see patients & they won’t move out to the ward in 4hrs because the hospital is full.
