@kst712 @DrStephanieCoo1 @Albertans4NDP @Ainha13 particularly when their income has dropped by 30-40% in a year without their input in part b/c of Kenney's cuts that occurred PRE-pandemic.

@vettergreenart Thanks for this, you’re right that’s fantastic news!
Hopefully they’ll announce assessment centres via PCNs?? 🤞🏻🤞🏻#abhealth #CovidIsNotOver #COVID19AB #yeg #yyc #abdocs4patients #extendthecodes #fundvirtualcare
So glad for virtual visits, yes!
Remember @jkenney is paying MDs less for virtual than for in person, and MDs can’t pay the bills bc of it.
He is likely very happy about the pandemic because it enables him to destroy public healthcare.

I’m going to have to do virtual visits as much as possible for a while…
There is no funding for the extra PPE that will be required (so the financial hits for family medicine just keep coming - most of you may want to metaphorically kiss your family doc goodbye as this may be the last straw).

Dear @shandro, it's past time to #extendthecodes. By not extending complex care codes to virtual care by family docs and other drs, you've cut pay for this work by 30-70%.

I’m sure the cost savings from all those cuts made in early 2020 and from not paying for virtual medicine will be eaten up quickly at this rate.

5) AHS calling rural ED physicians offering unprecedented cash bonuses, in addition to regular remuneration, to cover rural EDs at risk of closing.
A sign of the times.

Someone today with GAD7 =8, PHQ9 = 8 asked for 3/12 off.
I would LOVE 3/12 off; my scores are quite a bit higher than that. But I have no safety net. No benefits. No sick time. And thanks to the lack of funding for virtual care, I have no longer have a nest egg.

In a profession where we are writing letters and filling out forms for stress and mental health leaves for our patients, it is ironic how incredibly difficult it is actually to do for ourselves.
@AB_Fam_Doc I’d be a fool to stay if I didn’t have ties that bind:

The #CanadaHealthAct is in jeopardy.
Correction: @shandro cut my income by nearly $40K/year. And at least 1/2 of that was pre-Covid!
This Kenney govt wants to break our healthcare system so he can bring in two-tier care.

Shandro wanted to cut doctor's salary during a pandemic. But Toews wants to cut nurses's salary after (he hopes) a pandemic. Is this policy learning?
@RobertaSchell @DocMCohen @FamPhysCan BC and AB are also trying to get rid of family physicians.
It's so demoralizing.

@sammideedub There’s no doubt in my mind. We heard rumblings about this in November 2019. Then the eleven different cuts to billing in Feb 2020; most of them affecting family medicine.
I don’t understand why we’re putting up with such utter disregard!

Look at that date.
We’ve been asking for help since Shandro made changes that deliberately targeted family physicians in Feb 2020.

Read these comments to learn why we don’t want Kenney to succeed at breaking the #CanadaHealthAct, why we don’t want #TwoTierMedicine, why we must avoid #PrivatisedMedicine.

This is what @jkenney wants to happen to Alberta’s healthcare. Privatised medicine is more expensive and less effective.
Please don’t let him destroy the #CanadaHealthAct
