#February4th #Thiruparankundram #HindusUnity Mark the date: February 4th, 2025 Place: Thiruparankundram, Madurai city, Tamilnadu Cause: Voicing out against Kaumies trying to appropriate our Sanatan Devastanam, Sri Karthikeya Murugan Temple in Thiruparankundram hill, 1st of his 6 abodes and calling it as Sikandar hill. Brief look back: A dargah of the last Sultan of Madurai Sultanate - an Afghan, who died in his war against Vijayanagara forces is built in 1378 CE atop the Thiruparankundram hillock. There existed a mere grave in that place until the 19th century when a wealthy Muslim merchant donated and built a Dargah. This was also enroute to Kasi Viswanath temple which also rests atop the hillock built in the 7th century by the Pandyas. But existence of the spiritual place at Thiruparankundram has mentions in Tamil scriptures as far back as 2200 years ago. Hindu Devotees visit both the temples - Murugan as well as Kasi Viswanath temples, and the Islamists visit the Dargah. Recent controversy: Group of Muslims took live stocks like goats and chickens up the hill for sacrificing them at the dargah, when they were stopped by security Manning the entrance. While the muslim group argued this has been happening regularly, Hindus & security did not allow sacrifices in & around their spiritual hillock temple and no Meat products. After this gathered buzz with pro(read as paid)-Dravidiyaa mediahouses and social media handles pushing this as 'atrocity' against Minority (the usual RRona victim card), leaders of the ruling dispensation started to beeline to the place to exert pressure on the local police to allow muslims with their practices.
