Have put a #HoverflyLagoon next to my worm bin, as I spotted a Myathropa florea hovering around the airholes to the bin - and ovipositing on the ground beside it! She didn't seem to realise she wasn't IN the bin... π

We provided a bucket & stick to every class to create an aquatic habitat next to their raised beds in the #Friendshipgardens: 18 different water features in a grid pattern, managed by children. π
8 Avon created a #hoverflylagoon in a half filled bucket under a silver birch tree.
The #Friendshipgarden next to the playground is a hive of activity; this garden is open every day & each of our eighteen forms manage a raised bed and water feature. The flowers were covered with hoverflies today and we have rat-tailed larvae in 8 Avon's #hoverflylagoon .
