@DaniGclark I get you . Mother of 5 here , who once tried and failed to save a 15yo boy in an rtc. After the inquest his mum thanked me for not letting him die alone. At which point I had to carefully leave to go and cry out of sight. People should re read #itookhome

@SMoltonPolice @lyn22011962 Yes - Family Sarge! We must and I firstly include Myself as an Insp never forget the mental and physical cost this job has on our officers, staff and family. I recall a Twitter feed many years ago about #ITookHome which was so powerful and showed harrowing effects experienced.

@omid9 #Itookhome Read the tweets from 2017 and reflect on the reasons why officers suffer mental health problems. Then apologise - and mean it.

@JJSharpers This makes me recall the #ITookHome tweets that did the rounds a few years ago. So many people dealing with and living with the effects of traumatic incidents. Comms and Response officers are more often than not the first to face these scenes.

@MrNickKnowles You should do a program visiting police stations and talking to officers about their experiences and trauma they take home after each shift. #itookhome

@BBCTomSymonds This Tom Winsor? Who never having been a #Police Officer soiled this uniform. The some Tom who managed to offend the majority of Police through his ignorance and caused the #ITookHome hashtag. Tom who criticised some communities as “those born under other skies”? Seriously!😂

I love this idea. A quick twitter search of #ITookHome would give insight into how traumatic and harrowing #police incidents were (and still are...) for officers on the frontline. @LucyPasha @PFEW_HQ

That’s why @HuffPostUK is launching a new series to hear from those at the heart of the public sector about life on the frontline. The Case I Can’t Forget is an opportunity to expose the real-world impact of these changes, and shine a light on the realities of these jobs 3/5

Today has been an all round sad day and i am not ashamed to say i have shed a few tears. Last job of the day was going to a cat which had been hit by a car and unfortunately did not survive. 😭 #itookhome #sadday #itsoknottobeok #joblikenoother
