I used to work for #Borland in Scotts valley.. They were legendary in that era. #Delphi, #JBuilder, and #C++ Builder were part of that entire late-90s / early-2000s developer mythology — when software still felt handcrafted and frontier-like instead of endlessly abstracted cloud layers. And the PayPal/eBay shipping era was peak “early internet civilization” energy: people running businesses out of garages, forums and message boards, overnight shipping labels, Palm Pilots, Delphi desktop apps, eBay arbitrage, dot-com optimism before the collapse.

Today @YuriSidorov and I shipped a huge improvement to Bullet Train's OpenAPI 3.1 Document generation. Now, by default, resources have their OpenAPI docs auto-generated based on their Jbuilder templates and the Strong Parameters defined in their API controller.

@scrumtuous I moved to #Java just because the idea of #WORA. Before I was a fan of Borland #Delphi with Object Pascal. Sofar unbeatable in creating maintainable apps. #JBuilder tried the same way, but at that time Java was slow, so wrong timing. Timing, Place and Environment.

@maciejwalkowiak I really miss is the „Visual Component Library“ just like in #Delphi. In Delphi every „JavaBeans“ are visual, so you can still drag&drop a non-visual component like „TaxCalculator“ on a form. #JBuilder almost got us there with #Java and #JavaBeans, but not available anymore.

Somewhere around 2007 a #jbuilder was rewritten on top of @EclipseJavaIDE. That IDE had some really cool features like: `application factories` and `archeology`. Anyone with a demo or experiences to share? #java #borland

I don't stop from reading "for #ruby on #rails APIs" you can either use ActiveModel serializers or #jbuilder... but that's not true, you can build #api with only the builtin render: json: and using dtos with ease, take a look at: #rubyonrails #programming https://t.co/NGw5zq2Z3Y
