@alisonleary1 Historically it has always been easier to turn the tap on full rather than fix the #LeakyBucket but as long term strategies go this is myopic at best & resource intensive at worse
@alisonleary1 @KateBurkeNHS @FlexNHS @NavinaEvans @AmandaPritchard There’s little point expanding significant energy in recruiting if we still can’t work out how to retain our nursing staff - we are only going around in circles #LeakyBucket speaking from ++ experience it costs more to recruit (in all domains) then to retain existing staff

In October 2022 the PS @mofpedu believed corruption in SACCO funds was eliminated by the Treasury payong direct to SACCOs not via local government.
Sadly, it turns out local government officials extort between Shs.15K and 200K to be put on the list of beneficiaries.

I tried sending this earlier and apparently it didn't show up. I was cutting Sam's nails and by the time I got to the 3rd one he got out of my grasp. Come Back I yelled which caused Velvet to run from the front room to kitchen, bedroom, sunroom peeing all the way. Then #LeakyBucket

🔹 It's OK to say No 😊
The #NHSworkforcePlan looks like a long-term plan, but it won’t work if the government doesn’t pay competitive rates to retain staff, or have an effective social care plan, or a preventative strategy to stop the growing health crisis eg food regulation #LeakyBucket
Building on the famous #LeakyBucket tool from @CoadyStFX, @CIFOR-ICRAF’s #ABCD team trains communities to adopt a 3Ls lens. It helps farmers to Look, Learn, and Link their #assets and strengths to develop innovative agribusiness ideas in line with the principles of #agroecology.
#LeakyBucket of #Nursing, pay is a tool to respect and value nurses. When you have lost 20% since 2010 and are holding together clinical areas and safety due to #unsafestaffing it is clear the offer was as good as a simple dressing on a leg ulcer.
@K_G_Spearpoint @RachelReevesMP My understanding is that the answer to “1” may well be Yes, but the answer to 2 is much less certain.
And as we all keep saying, there is no point training thousands more yet doing nothing about retention.

Historical photo: Prime Minister of @GovUganda Rt Hon @RobinahNabbanja and Ag Minister of @mofpedU Hon @henrymusasizi1 pressing the button to send the first tranche of PDM money directly to Ugandans at the base of our economic pyramid. No more middlemen of money. No leaky bucket.
Poverty and poor health are a vicious cycle with one worsening the other. Trying to improve public or individual health without alleviating the poverty that will inevitably erode it, is a fools errand. #leakybucket
