Bobby Charles has shared a 6-point plan that he believes will reduce the cost of your electric bill by 30-40%. Here's the plan as he posted it: 1️⃣ Get politicians out of rate-setting. The Public Utilities Commission should not be run by political appointees. It should be run by trained engineers, economists, and utility experts. 2️⃣ Refocus the PUC and the Office of Public Advocate on ratepayers instead of mandates. 3️⃣ End the Net Energy Billing scheme that forces the many to subsidize the few. 4️⃣Protect hydropower, including the four Kennebec River dams. 5️⃣Negotiate completion of the Constitution and Iroquois pipelines to bring more gas into New England. 6️⃣ Let every efficient source compete: hydro, gas, nuclear, cogeneration, and renewables that pay for themselves.
