In June 2023, HDFC Bank made me guarantor for a ₹34,63,77,053 loan.
Without my consent. Without my KYC. Without my signature.
Three years later, my father is dead and I still don't have an answer. This is what happened.
The document that didn't exist
A Letter of Continuing Guarantee was created bearing a forged version of my signature. My PAN was mapped to a company-controlled email address on the NeSL statutory portal — a fabrication the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) confirmed to me in writing on 13.01.2026.
When I objected in writing, a second bank issued the takeover NOC anyway — later admitting in writing that it did so "due to repeated reminders from HDFC Bank."
One falsehood. Four institutions.
To the Central Crime Branch, Chennai: no document bears her signature. → Closure report, 07.02.2024.
To the Madras High Court: same. → Favourable order, 31.01.2025.
To the Reserve Bank of India: a different loan-application date than it filed in court. A different Board Resolution than it filed in court. And in July 2025 — "not a guarantor" — while the guarantee naming me sat in its own custody. → My complaint closed.
Then, in July 2026, two days before my RBI appeal hearing, HDFC produced that very Letter of Continuing Guarantee.
By its own hand, it proved every one of those statements false.
Section 46 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 makes furnishing wilfully false information to the RBI a punishable offence.
100+ complaints. Not one document ever verified.
Since 2023 my family has filed over 100 complaints — police, RBI, CPGRAMS, DPG, National Consumer Helpline, courts.
RBI's own Complaint Management System records 15 against HDFC and connected entities. First one: 12.06.2024.
Every single one closed.
Every closure based on the bank's own response — which no authority ever checked against a single document.
In three years, across a hundred complaints, not one authority asked HDFC to produce the guarantee it claimed to hold. The one document that would have ended this at the start.
And it kept lending
HDFC's own NeSL filings show money continued to move after my written fraud alert of 09.08.2023 — including a fresh cash credit of ₹5,49,91,000 on 17.09.2025.
The same filings record: "No authentication done by any parties till now."
What it cost
On 02.08.2026 my father — Shri Suresh Kumar K.A., 68, an accountant who stood beside me for three years, who lost his own ancestral home to a bank auction in the middle of this — died of a sudden cardiac arrest. The matter still unresolved.
We were a family of nine. We are eight.
Where it stands
I filed my rejoinder before the RBI Appellate Authority on 31.07.2026. I wrote again a month after the hearing.
No order. No acknowledgement. Silence.
I'm not asking anyone to take my word. Every line above is on the record — in the banks' own written admissions, in RBI's own complaint database, in IBBI's own confirmation letter.
I'm asking one question:
If a bank can manufacture a ₹34 crore liability against a citizen who never signed anything, hide the evidence from a criminal court, and face no consequence across 100 complaints and 3 years — what protects any of us?
