I am the only one who is confused by the merger of DCM/LVNC?
"9.7% of patients with DCM/LVNC had end-stage heart failure events" - DCM was def. as <50% EF, whereas most of the LVNC+ had very good EFs.

Much more the former than the latter.
@ahmed_ellaien It looks more like a left ventricular remodeling, with excessive trabeculation. Most probably the patient is old, with many cardiovascular risk factors, coronary artery disease and chronic kidney disease....

Left ventricular #noncompaction (LVNC) is a very rare congenital cardiomyopathy. It is a disease of endomyocardial trabeculations that increase in number and prominence..(spongy myocardium)

1. Trabeculations appear apically (and seemingly disappear at the base)

We encourage adoption of the term βexcessive trabeculationβ rather than #noncompaction. Why? The wall is formed by cellular proliferation, not by compaction of trabeculations, even if it is visually abnormal or excessive.
