Letting my boss @CycleSprog know I'll start a bit later today because I need to bring my bike in for a service #normalisecycling
When cycling regularly one realises how big cars actually are Normal weight of a modern family car is now >2,000kg. That is the weight of a white rhino. Average weight of an #ebike is 20kg - like 2 cats #NormaliseCycling (and I admit I'm still happy I have my car when it rains).
Just as #EarthDay at @ICR_London and elsewhere begins - #cycletowork tally now 3,600km+, instead of car (no good publ transport link). Only cycling in reasonable weather. Doesn't sound much, but when 100 people do this it would save 360,000km car commute. #NormaliseCycling
#Londoncandobetter - Formula 1 type 'Cycle Highways' exist for high speed City commute. But most of population live in suburbia where the traffic remains as scary as in Paperboy (showing my age) #normalisecycling
January not always the nicest for cycling to work. But starting the new year with 3000km+ of (near) #carbonneutral #commute is great. Would never have done this without an #ebike , also helped to recover from some tough health setbacks in 2021 (all fine now!). #normalisecycling

Nice one @geraghty_conor! In @dlrcc we regularly cycle for work, including site visits & meetings. It’s usually the quickest way to travel. We don’t need to look for parking & by not driving, road space & car parking is left for those who need it. #normalisecycling #bikeforwork
