I've been on hold with @Optus for 23 hours and 8 minutes.
No one is willing to help. This is one for the record book. What do I do? Give up?

With no end in sight, keep replacing driver's licenses.
What sort of leaders/people think this way?
A replacement driver's licence with a new number can be hacked again, seriously, it's not a solution.

#OptusDataBreach Optus lobbied forโ and receivedโ a relaxation of certain requirements for stress-testing its cyber defences under a 2021 reform to major service providers (Security Legislation Amendment) after arguing they were commercially onerous.ย
Who enabled #OptusHack 1/2
People with Optus must be so pissed off ๐คฌ Optus had no reason to retain identifying documents for long periods of time and if retained they should not be kept in the same place online ๐คจ amateur hour - the CEO should be sacked and others responsible ๐ฅบ
If you want to register for the possible class action against Optus, register here. They are exploring now. #OptusDataBreach #OptusHack #OptusClassAction https://t.co/g5VoA7XSRf
I feel somewhat aggrieved that @Optus thought that my personal data was worth so little. 20 years as a loyal customer wasn't worth protecting #OptusDataBreach #OptusClassAction
I'll bet in an underfunded #infosec team someone was telling #Optus they should be scanning their networks for criminal negligence at scale like unobfuscated PROD PII accessible from the internet via an API without authentication. Bring on the #OptusClassAction #OptusHack
Cybercriminals behind the @Optus data breach leaked 10,200 customer records in an attempt to extort $1 MILLION.

What Iโd like to know is why #Optus kept the full data of past customers in their database?
Was this ever explicitly confirmed to past customers and were they given the chance to have Optus remove / destroy their data?
Is there a class action here?

Optus saying it's not their fault, they're not the bad guys, the hackers are lol
How about your data security? Hope @Optus has their cyber liability insurance sorted because everyone who's personal data has been compromised should sue them.

FYI, I just registered to be kept up to date by Slater and Gordon as they investigate the possibility of filing a class action lawsuit against Optus. The page to register interest is here: https://t.co/aFBUH8rVHa
