- Recognize that car-dependent standards are completely inappropriate for walkable areas. Fire the head of city departments if necessary to ensure people are in charge who have the right goals. Create a team of professionals focused specifically on walkable areas.

I missed some of the details.
@justin_maybe @culturehub @uptownini Because we haven't followed our own plans. #plansj is the most important thing that's been done to address this in generations and we need to ensure successive Councils protect it and respect it.
The stats are in a developer's favour now. New devs need to follow #plansj & #takingshapesj. We need to be clear & firm about what we want to see built in our neighborhoods in terms of quality, design, how we ensure affordability. Expensive or ugly; both ghettos. Follow plans.
