I love this chapter. It is a stand alone handbook for living a successful life. It breaks down many of life’s obstacles with instructions on how to overcome them. Good morning. I truly love you.
+Proverbs 3:25-26 NKJV — Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.+
Fear can be crippling. It can reduce the most brave and robust man to a heap of trembling flesh. Of course the culture has a solution. It's mind numbing medications. Some circumvent that and self medicate with alcohol or illegal substances or some really dark vise. My choice was alcohol. When I met Jesus and asked Him to be Lord of my life things began to change. Passages like the 23rd and 91st Psalm gave me hope and made me realize that my fear was actually a vacuum. A vacuum caused by the absence of God in my life. That vacuum pulled in everything but real relief. I was never meant to navigate this journey called life alone. Being in relationship with God, the LORD Most High has given me confidence to face anything and everything I will encounter. Every day is a challenge. The difference now is that I get to witness God at work in every situation. He is so supernatural and practical at the same time. If you ever see me giggle for seemingly no reason; it's because I see the Lord's deliverance in situations that used to chase me straight to a bottle. He's good like that.

Good chilly morning from the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I love you.
+Proverbs 11:22 NLT — A beautiful woman who lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.+
As a child my parents owned a small working farm. We had cows, ponies, chickens, and of course pigs. Those pigs were constantly trying to dig out of their pen. I suppose they weren't that enthusiastic about becoming bacon. Anyway, we put rings in their snouts to prevent them from rooting and digging. Swine to the Hebrews are an unclean, inedible meat. The wisdom here is that beauty is an asset if it is coupled with the right attitude, personality and wherewithal to make good choices. Otherwise its as useless as a ring of gold in a pigs snout. There is a certain amount of hidden humor in this Proverb. A lack of discretion is never funny, as it usually leads to terrible choices and destruction. Heavenly Father, I'm not beautiful, nor female. But I ask that You will arm me with discretion that my choices and attitude will reflect your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

It's November 1st. It's sart again day in chapter one of Proverbs. This month I'm going to try to use the New Living Translation exclusively. Let's get to it.
*Proverbs 1:4-6 NLT — These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young. Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles.*
Good morning! I love you. This first chapter reveals the reason God gives us this book. He doesn't want His kids walking around like knuckleheads. My Heavenly Father wants to equip me to be successful in this life. I want His insight, knowledge, and discernment. I want His wisdom. I want His guidance. And here it is. The quantities of it that I can absorb, anyway. If you are following these posts daily, it is my hope that you will steal moments to get alone and read each day's corresponding chapter. We can call these chapters mental and spiritual vitamins. This book is where God overhauled a bus load of personality glitches I was dealing with. It is a very special book. I love you.

May God bless you, and keep you, and make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. I love you.
*Proverbs 17:17 NASB20 — A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
I have friends, a few, that love me. Even when I'm unlovable. They will also speak truth to me, in love, when they see that I'm veering off course in my journey. I love those dudes. A brother or close family member will stand with you even in the midst of adversity. When it seems everyone has turned their back to you. Jesus is that friend/ brother to me. In John 15:13 He is that friend that laid down His life for me. In Romans 8:29 and Hebrews 2:11-18, Jesus is that brother Who is not ashamed of me. Jesus took on flesh and blood to be my brother. So that through the terrible death He endured on that cross, He would pay my sin debt that I could not afford. Jesus is my Friend, my Brother, my Savior, my High Priest, and my God. He's good like that.

God's love and grace to you this morning. I love you.
*Proverbs 25:21-22 NLT — If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the LORD will reward you.*
I would like to think that I don't have any enemies. The truth is that there are people who just do not like me. And, if I'm truthful, there are people that I don't care to be around. I'm not better than anyone. At all. Perhaps if I know of a need in their lives, such as food, water, or assistance of some type and I meet their need, we just may find common ground. We may look at each other differently as a result of shame for prior personal opinions of one another. Who knows, a friendship may occur. The LORD will reward such actions. He's all about relationship mending. God sent His Son to earth to heal a relationship that we (I) broke. * Colossians 1:21-22 NLT — This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.* He's good like that. I love you.

You are loved by my Father, and so, I love you, too.
*Proverbs 24:1-2 CSB — Don’t envy the evil
or desire to be with them, for their hearts plan violence, and their words stir up trouble.*
The culture puts lipstick and rouge on evil in an attempt to legitimize it. Often under the banner of entertainment. And we invite it into our homes. Popular entertainers act out disgusting displays of lewd acts on stage in the name of art. And then, their images appear on dolls and such for our young ones. They are called cultural icons, and we are encouraged to emulate them. If you dissect their music, it is more often than not filled with violence, trouble, and straightforward rebellion aimed at God. All the while, Christians are painted as weirdos and haters. My interactions with those who participate in that charade of evil should be to love them. And to reveal Christ to them. To model the truth of Christ in love and forgiveness. However, I'm not to envy their lifestyle, nor am I to desire their company in the practice of their craft. Here's some bonus Proverbs; 24:19-20 CSB — Don’t be agitated by evildoers,
and don’t envy the wicked. For the evil have no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Happy Friday. My soul loves you.
*Proverbs 19:8 CSB — The one who acquires good sense loves himself;
one who safeguards understanding finds success.*
This is interesting. Loving myself appears to have Biblical and, therefore, God's approval. Jesus told me to love my neighbor as I love myself (Luke 10:27). If I'm reading that correctly, I can't love anyone if I don't love myself. I'm not talking about self admiration. That leads to arrogance, and that's not love. That's being in love with oneself. That leads to selfishness, self-promotion, and self worship. But if I'm acquiring (purchasing, buying) good sense (wisdom) from God, then I love my soul and all of God's creation in kind. Including my neighbor. If you know someone who appears to hate everyone, a closer look at them will probably reveal self-loathing. Guess what. That's my (your) neighbor. Now what? Follow Jesus and love them. There's probably a world of hurt there. Finally, safeguard understanding. Protect it. You'll find success. In closing, check this out: Proverbs 2:6-7 CSB — For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up success for the upright; He is a shield for those who live with integrity

Good evening, I love you.
-Proverbs 24:3-4 HNV — Through wisdom a house is built; By understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled With all rare and beautiful treasure.-
1st Peter 2:5 describes believers as a spiritual house: — you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.-
The materials in this house are wisdom and understanding. The foundation is the first phase of house construction. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD (Proverbs 1:7). This what my spiritual house must have as the foundation. Skimping here is a disaster. Improperly done, it throws everything after off. Next comes drying in and finishes. The material of choice has to be understanding. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10). Knowledge of God comes from digesting His word and spending time with Him in prayer. And that's understanding. Lastly, I've got to furnish my house. That doesn't come from IKEA. It comes from Knowledge. Where does knowledge come from? Proverbs 2:6 NKJV — For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Well, if you'll excuse me, I've got a house to build and finsh.

Good morning. I love you!
*Proverbs 23:4-5 NASB20 — Do not weary yourself to gain wealth; stop dwelling on it. When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.
Our Lord Jesus taught this. *Matthew 6:19-20 NASB20 — “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.* I just got back from Burnsville, NC. I was there for a week assisting Samaritan's Purse in the rebuilding phase of helping victims of Hurricane Helene. In an instant, all that these people had worked for was gone. The wealth of this world is transitory and can vanish in an instant. The love, peace, and prosperity of Father are eternal. The afterlife that is promised to those who have asked for forgiveness from God and invited Jesus into their heart is eternal. To trust in riches would leave me always wanting more. To trust in Jesus fulfills me and leads me to eternal hope and life. Even in trials, tests, and temptations, Jesus is there. When I seek Him and His kingdom first, all of my other needs take care of themselves. He's good like that.

Good morning, I love you.
*Proverbs 1:32-33 NASB20 — “For the faithlessness of the naive will kill them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them. “But whoever listens to me will live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil.”*
This chapter introduces us to the purposes of Proverbs. The 31 chapters of Proverbs is the inspired word of our Holy God. Verse 20 introduces us to wisdom. And wisdom is given a female persona. This might very well be my 50th reading of this book. The more I read it, the more I believe wisdom is a living, breathing created entity. A gift from Father to all who will ask Him for wisdom. James 1:5 NASB20 — But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.* There is no excuse for me to be without wisdom. Wisdom is calling out to me above the noise of the culture. God will freely give wisdom if I ask for it. Verses 32 and 33 clearly show there is no neutrality here. You either stay naive and complacent, or you heed wisdom's call. One leads to destruction and the other to life and security. I must choose wisely.

Good morning! I love you.
*Proverbs 11:12-13 NLT — It is foolish to belittle one’s neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet. A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.*
These Proverbs have done a marvelous thing in my life. In conversations and discussions, when it is my time to speak or reply, a quiet voice in my spirit will speak to me. Sometimes, it quotes portions of a Proverbs, like today's selection. Or it will say, "You don't need to say anything in reply." Or, "that isn't appropriate." The more often I listen and obey, the clearer that voice gets. Especially concerning gossip, or when someone has trusted me with something confidential in their life. It's hurtful and damaging to betray a confidence or to spread gossip. Listen carefully for that voice, especially when anger is present. You'll be glad you did.

Happy Friday, Proverb Challangers! I love you.
*Proverbs 30:2-3 CSB — I am more stupid than any other person, and I lack a human’s ability to understand. I have not gained wisdom, and I have no knowledge of the Holy One.*
I am probably on my 30th to 40th reading of this wonderful book of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. Every reading of it strengthens what I have learned and reveals something I hadn't seen before. Each reading has its "aha" moment, and I am reminded of how much there is to learn and understand. And how much I don't know nor understand. God is infinitely awesome, and He is the mystery of mysteries. Exploring God is a lifelong pursuit that fulfills me like nothing else can. So yeah, today's Proverb describes me to a "T." I'll leave you with this. If God is small enough for me to understand, then He is not big enough to be God.
I love You, Father. Abba.
