The difficulty with the former is where the roads closed still generate traffic *from themselves*, whilst we in fact still build more roads regionally (Silvertown, Wensum).
Looking at Lower Thames, Silvertown and multiple new motorway schemes across the UK, it appears we have a national policy to:
1) use #ReducedDemand in cities to incentivise fewer shorter trips &
2) use #InducedDemand outside cities to enable longer trips.

If LTNs are class war, they’re class war against poshos who own cars. Poor people don’t own cars.

LTNs are mostly a class war. An assault on hard working tradesmen and women moving around materials. People who say “low income workers benefit from LTNs” are mainly White Paper Mansplainers who have never got off their laptops to speak to those their ideas effect.
