The apex court has held that police authorities CANNOT serve notices under #Section35 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (#BNSS), 2023, through WhatsApp or any other electronic mode of communication.
The Court stressed that #legalprocedures must be followed strictly, and casual electronic messaging cannot replace due process of law. This ensures greater transparency and protection of citizens’ rights.
