@HereforHereford @Farnsworth100 @ExplorerDale @RosieP4 @tizzy_woo @JerryYIMBY @justspace7 @PeckhamVision Yes, here in #Sheffield we are trying to move away from toxic tribalism to more cooperative cross party and cross community working. We think this will lead to more effective and inclusive decision making. #SheffRef @ItsOurCitySheff

@edwardpoole1975 #SheffRef going ahead this May after being postponed with local elections last year. #Sheffield will hopefully vote for a modern inclusive and crossparty committee system and end to strong leader model. Many other authorities doing same. Grassroots activism.💪💪💪

Looking likely that #SheffRef will be postponed yet again! @Bob_of_Hills will you work with @ItsOurCitySheff and #sheffield citizens to move towards a more democratic governance structure? @LutheBlue @LizzieRoberts @tobyfoster @NancyFielder

Sheffielders are currently prevented from “taking control” of any “social fabric” under extreme, undemocratic strong leader governance clung on to by city council leadership. Will you commit to changing this @Bob_of_Hills? In the future Sheffield will be a democracy. #shefref21

Some wards not fully represented due to vacant cllr seats. Also when are we ever going to have #SheffRef? Long long overdue! 😔

Could Sheffield Council elections be delayed? @thetimes says local and mayoral elections scheduled for May 6 are likely to be delayed again because of Covid. Mayors and town hall leaders were approached by civil servants last week to discuss postponing to June, July or September

Likewise, yes, we must act in creating the conditions for a better city for all. #sheffref one of the necessary steps to get rid of dysfunctional "strong leader" governance. But other things are coming too..... @AnneBarr2015 @ItsOurCitySheff @simonjduffy @JamesLock__

If we want change we have to act. If we want Sheffield, it's citizens & our future taken better care of, we need to create the conditions for better people to be able to have a say The track record for what & who we a have now speaks for itself https://t.co/Zw1NxzLZLO #ItsOurCity

@HelpSheffield @katejosephs A change of governance structure and end to Strong Leader Model and improved democracy at local level. #itsourcity #SheffRef sadly delayed along with local elections.

@_mia_gray This is why we are having the #SheffRef. No transparency or accountability here either. We think these are 2 crucial issues for democracy. You can do this. See notes for campaigners https://t.co/xAKqDT4xuA

@DouglasJSheff @rawkus_marcus @SheffCouncil It must be very frustrating as an elected cllr to hear about important decisions on social media and seemingly on the whim of a cabinet member. This kind of nonsense will stop with the end of Strong Leader and Cabinet model. Just a shame delay in #SheffRef or would be gone now.

Under committee governance in Sheffield it’s possible we could change this. We could work to ensure that our elected cllrs were allocated to committees proportionate to actual vote share, not to nos of cllrs. @ItsOurCitySheff Vote for CHANGE in Sheffield People’s Referendum.
