#Stability2 just randomised its final patient to hit 1236 sample size!!
Massive effort from the team!!

#EndOfAnEra … last #STABILITY2 patient on my 2 years of #internationalfellowship 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦…it has been a privilege to be part of two teams in 2 different centres #recruiting and treating patients with #ACL tears

@DrJN_SportsMed Lots of reports of this. Sadly some patients, no matter what graft is used, will report donor site issues. The question is whether one graft will have less issues without affecting clinical outcomes. We hope #stability2 will shed some light - 850+ recruited and counting….
@NuelleSportsMD One is cheap as chips. The other….. Will perceived benefits of QT be worth the cost?
Hopefully #stability2 will answer. 750+ randomised so far.

- Scoping life away ✅ @ortho_uottawa
@DrNickColyvas @SSittonMD @kcrehabguy QT may provide some benefits over other grafts - but depends on outcome measure of interest.
No doubt each graft offers diff risk/benefit profile. Each also has specific rehab needs.
Hopefully #Stability2 will shed some light
@generalorthomd @SSittonMD @NuelleSportsMD @randymcohn @FKSMC_Getgood Two primary cases recently. The young hyper lax female tends to benefit the most. Love the all suture knotless fixation for IT band (ala @PaulSethiMD) on top of all inside quad ACLR. #imabeliever #STABILITY2
Huge honour to be @UCSFOrthosurg Visiting Prof this am. Great cases presented by the residents and superb discussion with faculty. Thanks to Ben Ma, @DrBrianFeeley Drew Landsdowne and staff for invitation #ACL #LET #STABILITY2
@FKSMC_Getgood drops a ton of expertise as our @UCSFOrthosurg Grand Rounds. Incredible body of work that guides our management of #ACL tears in a patient specific manner.
Thoughtful and thorough commentary. Thanks for the shout out. Great to see more people incorporating EA into clinical practice. Important techniques to optimise outcomes in high risk ACL patients.

Excited to share my @arthroscopyj Editorial Commentary on the role of Extra-Articular augmentations in Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction https://t.co/atp6RCbzBQ much respect to @FKSMC_Getgood & @Sonnerycottet for their seminal work on this topic #knee #ACL #ALL #LET #AANA
Proud of this paper highlighting our collaboration between @UPMCSportsMed @VolkerMusahl and @FKSMC.
Building on ongoing multicentre research #StarTrial #Stability2
More to come from us focusing on complex knee reconstruction!
In this study from the January issue of KSSTA, conducted at the UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Center at the University of Pittsburgh, the authors demonstrated high surgical complexity in revision ACL-R due to high rates of concurrent procedures.

@LenMacPT @RoulaKotsifaki 2/2 Validation of MOON risk calculator showed potential additive benefit of LET over BTB alone. #Stability2 should help identify patient characteristics where LET should be added #patientspecificACLR

@CLEsportsMD @ACLrecoveryCLUB @ACLtreatment Not even @LeePaceMD lauding the quad has had a significant clinical impact....yet....#Stability2 (shameless plug)
Hurra!! 🇳🇴👏🏻Finally we were able to include the first Norwegian patient in Stability2 @GilbertMoatshe @larsengebretsen #aclresearch #stability2 #ous
Although I still prefer to use a bone plug when using QT! Meticulous technique keeps complications low #Stability2
Credit to @darren_desa_md and team who did the majority of the heavy lifting for this study
Bone-quadriceps-tendon has a much wider major and minor complication profile as compared with soft tissue-quadriceps tendon graft for #ACL reconstruction. #knee #arthroscopy @FKSMC_Getgood

@JamesLubowitzMD @AANAORG @ArthroscopyJ Thank you to @AANAORG @ArthroscopyJ @JamesLubowitzMD for recognising our functional outcomes paper from the #stabilitystudy as best clinical research for 2020. Proud of our #team. Looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in 2021 and beyond #Stability2
Interesting study findings, but the role of lateral tenodesis potentially influences outcomes further - we need the results of #stability2
Patients treated with HT autografts have a significantly higher, activity-dependent risk of revision surgery and experience more ipsilateral graft ruptures than subsequent contralateral ACL injuries when compared with patients treated with QT! #LaudTheQuad https://t.co/04f7gY9Faq
@OrthoThompson @DrRajuEaswaran @pmacdonald16 My experience is same as what this study shows. Less sensory loss with oblique incision. Plus it doesn’t complicate any further procedures. Interested to know what issues you have had/seen. In any case, prob better to use BTB or QT #Stability2 😉
My 1st (of many) #stability2 case this am! Don’t think this patient knows what a big impact this study will have! @FKSMC_Getgood @VolkerMusahl
@kneeguyuk @NuelleSportsMD @hjluks QT failures in Danish study mostly focused in one centre treating very high risk patients (female handball). That said, they still failed.... we have just started recruitment for #Stability2. BTB vs QT +- LET. Should be done by @hjluks PGY34. 😉
1st pt recriited for #Stability2 trial yesterday. Proud of the team, particularly Stacey Wanlin for getting us to this point. Only 1239 more pts to go! @CIHR_IRSC @NIH_NIAMS @VolkerMusahl @TimSpaldingKnee @larsengebretsen @darrenjohnsonmd @MDMillerMDUVA @H2O_SportsMD @BobLitch
