(Seminar’s SO fun to #teach, but too small N to test the relative efficacy of different exercises, too, so pushing for 2 classes next year!🙏🏼)

I’ve also been trying to code/quantify #CriticalThinking in students’blogs to see if it ACTUALLY improved,but wish I’d measured directly,too!😭
What type of cell phone policy do you want to implement in the classroom for better learning?

@Notawful Thanks!☺️Students seemed to put more effort into #blogging with peers, which made their blogs more fun to read/grade than reflection papers, too. #stp19poster #stp19thread
Btw, your great @BuzzFeed quiz idea for teaching #validity was a hit w/my RM students, thank you!😊

Findings: MTC-22 scale captures 6 areas of competency. Reliability = Cronbach’s α = .88 (explain 64% of the total variance). Big5 predicted teaching behaviors in 5/6 MTC-22 components. Grad Students report low participation in SoTL😢
@dsrudmann @APAEducation @PsychScience @Kaleido_ed @AliMattu @AcademicChatter @xiaofei_lin @nitopconference @I_SoTL @GreaterGoodSC I had students #blog w/@Esri @ArcGISStoryMaps bc IT recommended it&gave us a tutorial
unless students used/preferred @Wordpress or @Wix.I’d prob recommend @Wordpress (most common w/more functionality) IF well supported at your U😊More: https://t.co/QMuF5hZcd6

BUT scores didn’t improve as much as they/I expected overall?🤔Measures may not be sensitive enough w/finals stress etc?#STP19Thread

Students rated agreement w/
“This class/practice helped me
-learn

-realize what’s most important to me for living a good life”
@Clem_Diaz @SIOP_ECC @SIOPtweets @APA @APAEducation @gradsteachpsych @TeachPsych @PsychScience @APA_Divisions Great poster! It's concerning that 75% Intro to Psych course instructors does not include IO. Perhaps, sharing more resources and coaching the instructors about its importance will help! IO has high application #stp19poster #stp19thread
@Clem_Diaz @SIOP_ECC @SIOPtweets @APA @APAEducation @gradsteachpsych @TeachPsych @PsychScience @APA_Divisions We're happy to say that all of our PSY 1001 courses highlight #IOPsych😀(the textbook we require instructors to use has a devoted chapter to I-O). #stp19thread
