If you enjoyed my live tweeting of each presentation at #SysMus20, I'm running for @CommitteeSysmus Secretary.
Another year and another SysMus conference have flown by! For the first Executive Committee, it's also coming up to the end of our term - which means - we're looking for a new SysMus Executive! #sysmus20 #phdchat #musicscience
This was a really great Keynote talk from Prof Ian Cross at #sysmus20 and the recording will be edited and uploaded in the coming days - stay tuned!

Second Keynote presented Prof Ian Cross (@CamUniMusic) reviews the relationship between music and language through the lenses of linguistics, anthropology and cognitive science. Language and music seem indistinguishable in phatic social interactions. #SysMus20 #musicscience
Unfortunately I didn’t get to attend enough of #SysMus20, Let me know if you gave a talk and I will watch when they go live!
#sysmus20 was absolutely brilliant. Very provoking talks and flawless execution. A proof that online conferences are worth adding to the mix. Thanks @diana_kayser for organizing and the helping team. Hope to meet you next year.
@diana_kayser well done! #sysmus20
Big Reveal: #SysMus21 will be hosted by @musicbrainAU.
Very excited to *hopefully* see all the #musicscience folks in Denmark! #SysMus20
Such an honour to host #SysMus20. @diana_kayser has pulled off a fantastic online conference with many rich presentations, posters, discussions, workshops and a panel! Without her dedication and hard work this would not have been possible. @CommitteeSysmus
Last paper session of #SysMus20 coming up (chaired by yours truly). Excited to hear talks on Music and Prosociality. #musicscience
Had fun chairing a #sysmus20 session while wearing my pyjama trousers. Great talks from Omer Leshem on empathy and ability to identify emotion in live jazz, and @mimi_oneill from @YorkMusicPsych on the social aspects of a classical concert experience.
@YorkMusicPsych PhD researcher @mimi_oneill will be presenting her work on the development of a scale designed to measure the social experience of a live, western art music concert.
was a nice discussion at @lennie_tm ‘s poster session in #SysMus20 about theoretical models of music & emotion 🤓 (link: https://t.co/1eN3XDRfuM)
Keynote Ian Cross (@CamUniMusic) explores the unique idea of the link between #music and #language being best captured through socially constructed behaviours #SysMus20

Lots of great points and questions at my talk, thank you to all those who came! Always nerve-wracking to speak, even online, but lots of fun. #sysmus20
Great discussions of my model of youth empowerment through music making at @SysMus20 today!
Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like more info about the model and the paper :)

@DiannaVidas Thanks for a great talk, as an international student in the UK I found this extremely interesting. Perhaps the differences you observe might be due to international students being more at risk? I’ve definitely observed those at risk benefiting from music the most. #sysmus20
.@DiannaVidas investigates music as a coping mechanism in domestic and international uni students. #SysMus20 #musicscience
