Many of the people hassling @brittanylm3281 right now wish math were a retreat from those social concerns, but it clearly isn't. They need to leave math to people who care about people. #TakeBackTheMath 2/2

It is in this context that I started tweeting about #TakeBacktheMath, a nod to those women and that movement. But "the math" is counter to our larger point, because really, my math might be different than your's. Sometimes it is!

Demarcated as sacred: capitalism, history, literature, patriotic songs, Declaration of Independence. She didn't include MATH on this list. They save that to highlight as extreme radicalism, to ridicule and to inflame, because how could math be anything but 2+2=4? #takebackthemath
