I've found this amazing comparison video for more than 40 health and sleep trackers from a PhD! He uses more serious devices to compare the trackers to. #pwme #TheRestTest @remissionbiome @tessfalor @chydorina

A poll for people with LC or ME.
Did your baseline improve after starting to implement pacing?
(For poll purposes, pwME after covid please use the LC voting option)
#TheRestTest
Ok, a thread about pacing. I haven't made a real thread sinds spring because brain fog so please bear with me.
Tl;dr Pacing is an intense symptom management strategy, not a cure. Sometimes people get better, sometimes they get worse. We need a real cure.
#TheRestTest
@Naomi_D_Harvey I feel like to truly stick to pacing and not going over my HR limit I am going to have to seriously alter some personality traits before I can be around people! @chydorina thinking about this for implications of #TheRestTest?
#theRESTtest has NOTHING to do with doing NOTHING It is actually the opposite.
It is learning to pace so that you can do MORE and crash LESS.
Rest is not IMMOBILITY, rest is a state of EASE and low STRESS.
@__potatie__ search the hashtag: #theRESTtest
there is no one right way to do this. it will always be highly personalized.
If your gut response is to get angry and frustrated with someone suggesting that you do the #theRESTtest and TRY NOT TO CRASH...
Please ask yourself what it is about this that is really bothering you about this. It cant just be that it is too HARD, too challenging, too boring.
If crashing keeps us stuck in a sickness cycle (which makes sense theoretically) - the logical thing to do would be to do everything you can - NOT TO CRASH.
We do not know if this is the case but the anecdotal evidence sure is piling up. Some people can actually recover from #MECFS with extreme REST and CRASH AVOIDANCE. @remissionbiome
@chydorina How to do when we crash for stress, weather changes, getting our period or herpes outbreaks? Or when most of us have to keep working bc we canโt access disability benefits? serious question because I really want to do #TheRestTest but itโs seems impossible
While we wait for treatment and cure to come down the pipeline there is one thing we can all start TODAY that has been shown anectodally to lead to remission:
Not CRASHING
How? Try #theRESTtest
You have nothing to lose by changing behaviour and for some it does work
Slide 7: Why #theResttest might be so powerful. crashes may keep us in the cycle of illness by re-starting disease process
@TJerryfan @remissionbiome yes agreed!! #theRestTest is a HUGE part of this!! HR almost never going over 80.
The Frontier X by @FourthFrontier uses Heart Strain, or cardiac strain, referred to as the ST depression to measure the amount of oxygen deprivation experienced by heart muscles.
Worth checking out for #MECFS #LongCovid to manage pacing and #theresttest.
@remissionbiome
I have been using 'Frontier X' cardio monitor https://t.co/M5CE1WCbxO to help with pacing and the #theRESTtest.
Tracking 'heart strain' - a combo metric of cardio load/breathing is helpful.
Better than polar chest strap for cardio tracking. 1/n

Pacing 101: Small changes. Big HR consequences.
Doing activity with arms raised can skyrocket HR:
- try walking in a pool w/arms at side vs swimming motions
- showering without washing hair (arms above head)
What are your PACING strategies? #TheRestTest

Having #LongCovid feels like weโve been thrown off this planet; consigned to oblivion.
Yet the burden of disability on the world and its economy is becoming deafening despite the silence all around us.

@TahirihWalsh @tessfalor @coolermom100 @remissionbiome right now its simply a grass roots pacing fan group. smiles. but more seriously, the #theresttest pretty much provides all the information there is on it.
