Spent the whole day working on the page loading screen animation that was still missing for our #webflowchallenge project. @oliver_gareis delivered a slick design template for it and we definitely wanted to include it. Didnāt expect it to keep me busy all day though.
The challenges?š
ā¢ Loading screen should only appear on first visit (tab session)
ā¢ Stage animation should only fire after the loading screen
ā¢ On reload, the stage animation should trigger directly no loader
Approach:
Custom Event Triggers
With Webflow Interactions (IX), you can use āListen for eventā:
ā loadingScreen starts the loader
ā stageIntro starts the stage animation
Both events are fired via custom JS.
Result:
ā¢ Loader appears once per tab as intended
ā¢ Stage starts right after the loader
ā¢ On reload or when navigating back from a subpage, the stage animation still triggers smoothly
Cleanly decoupled, reliable, and easy to maintain.

I decided to go big or go home for the 2025 #WebflowChallenge with @contra and create websites and product features for not 1 but 3 of my dream clients, each created under the hood of my ādreamā future studio. First up, an Intelligent Canvas for @webflow š®
I was thinking about how Al could fit into the platform beyond its current state in a way that felt really true to Webflow as a company and a product. How do creatives create without collapsing possibilities into technical capacity?
The answer? They Tinker.
Introducing Tink: Contextual intelligence that learns how you work and surfaces insights exactly where they matter.
Tink combines deep knowledge of best-practices in UX, Content and Web Development (with full knowledge of Timothy Ricksā Lumos, @CoreyGMoenās MAST and @finsweet's Client First frameworks) with an understanding of you that it hones over timeāhow you work, your language, your taste, your capabilitiesāto support your work in whatever way you need and build something thatās both visually and structurally exceptional.
Tink has three modes:
ā š Observe: gathers context without interrupting.
ā š¬ Suggest: surfaces ideas, fixes and suggestions for you to action.

Most Al tools operate adjacent to your work (chatbots, generators, assistants). Tink operates within the medium itself. Itās not a feature in Webflow-itās Webflow coming alive.
