@washcoroads @BFryback What about instead of delaying peds and requiring they push 3 difficult-to-access (ADA?) beg buttons, you could set curbs out and cone off maybe 1 car lane for a temporary walkway? Put the crosswalk on auto and maybe headstart. Choose #workzoneFTW not workzoneWTF

Why not, as we're recovering from covid, and rethinking how we use our streets, combine #workzoneFTW and #tacticalUrbanism ideas to quickly connect a citywide bikeway network much like we did the bus priority lanes and pop-up safe streets? Travel time check biking Sandy, Barbur

@BikePortland @alexmahan @JoAnnPDX Our #WorkzoneFTW policy would require something like a barrier-protected bikeway for a project that was closing a block of bike lane. What does it require when you close a major link across the river? We need to operate our bike network like a service, make sure it is always on

So we have this #workzoneFTW policy that says you make sure the street is accessible and safe for all users while you're working on it, wheelchair ramps, row of cones for bike lanes, close a car lane, stop signs, whatever you need to make it safe. Hard to argue with that.
