CW: police violence against a child.
A Nelson Co. HS student was brutalized by sheriffs last week. The school division is placing blame on the student, while using an increased police presence to threaten students who wish to protest this inhumane treatment.

Tell them it’s not okay to threaten upset students with more police if they protest. Tell them to keep all SROs and police out of their schools, because Cops ≠ Safety. Cops ≠ Security. Cops ≠ Peace. Demand these officers be fired.

Suggesting that ACPS replace cops with security guards WHO ARE TRAINED BY THE COPS proves that ACPS does not understand the school to prison pipeline. Security guards participate in the same racist power structures of fear and intimidation. #PoliceFreeSchools #CounselorsNotCops
