Lemtinsei Singson (50), the commander of the United Tribal Liberation Army-KNO Seiphu faction operating under the SoO agreement, was arrested by a team from the 39th Assam Rifles at Phaitol village in Tamenglong district, Manipur. During the operation, the security personnel discovered 124 grams of a substance believed to be "brown sugar" or heroin hidden in 10 soap cases. An initial report has been filed against Lemtinsei Singson, who leads the United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) under the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) banner.

I spoke to a cousin today and asked her how things were. This is what she said:

It's horrible. The mental trauma we have, the emotional rollercoaster we are going through... it has affected us physically at this point. Me and my sister have a garment house here and wedding/festive season is a big season for us but for 5 months, Manipur has been dead, no celebration, no weddings, no festivities... Nothing is certain, there will curfew imposed suddenly and then life just gets shut. And it's always scary because we don't know what will happen anytime .. if there are paramilitary forces, we are advised to stay alert since they might come assault us for no reason. Everyday since May3 hearing & seeing news of violence, it's something we never imagined. We were so happy earlier with music, festivals and what not. The hill people also use to come down when there were concerts, valley people would also go to the hills for festivals like Shiroy Lily but all that is gone now ... it's very emotional and sad for us ..

My cousin's account vividly illustrates the profound impact of the ongoing conflict in #Manipur. Highlights the toll it has taken on the lives, businesses, and overall well-being of the people in the region, making it a deeply distressing and challenging period for them.
