Medium / long term view - welfare reform planning in the run up to the spending review next year. One can only hope. (& multilateral mechanism a role for procurement later).

@McmeekinIan @FennellJW Brontanax looks to have greater range, payload & LO than most of the offerings in its price range. & seems designed with STOL carrier operations in mind from the outset. Any competition with other CCAs is hopefully there for keeping BAE price competitive more than anything else.

@navalhistorian Seems like trying to keep Lockhead on side whilst also hedging with Typhoon ECRS Mk2 etc + StormFighter (class 2 ACP) teaming as alternative bridge to Tempest. Actually sovereign (mission planning, spares), rate of software adaptation, weapon integration etc.

@RAeSTimR Looks like it may have a fair amount more range than the increment 1 US CCAs, given the wing shape/size & body volume. Perhaps aiming for it be able to fly with similar endurance to GCAP, or a future upscaled iteration. + the Vanquish requirement to provide AA refueling. @JonA2i
