@Shazzmuss@NavKGill@realJ_Mitchell@TDotResident No. If my kid wakes up and is vomiting or has a fever, he’s not going to school. However, it’s not something a doctor needs to see him for. He just needs rest and fluids. Parents shouldn’t need a doctor’s note for every illness.
@realJ_Mitchell These are rules for the current school year 2025/26. This is not the updated regs for next school year. Currently schools don’t ask for doctors notes. Parents just call in to say their kids are sick for example.
What’s really at stake if Ford eliminates school trustees?
Trustees aren’t symbolic — they are a lifeline for MANY Ontario families. In the 2024–25 school year alone, trustees helped more than 102,000 children and youth with disabilities access the supports they needed in school. Yet too many are still being left behind: the @OntAutism’s latest survey found that at least 19,000 students with disabilities missed school altogether last year, when they had every right to be in the classroom!
Families rely on trustees to advocate, hold schools accountable, and make sure students with special needs aren’t silenced or excluded. Eliminating trustees risks taking all of that away.

@The_Wisco_Hawk@RAD_is_awesome LOL please tell me this is sarcasm?? FFS is it really too much to ask that students are expected to listen and be respectful regardless of how entertaining a teacher is or isn’t? Come on!
@Heman7773@reality422@JaredJConway@BonnieCrombie That’s how it’s always worked. You 1st must earn an undergrad degree in a teachable area. Then you apply to T’s college. (Unless you earned everything concurrently). It used to be a 1 yr T’s college program, then was changed to a 2 year. Going back to a one year would be helpful
@Jody83211299260@JillDunlop1 There’s been hospitality courses and fashion courses for quite a while. Construction as well as automotive classes are available at certain schools. This government isn’t focusing on actual issues that need solving. They’re playing YOU-those who think kids don’t have access.
@EdPilon4@DavidFord32@Teachers__Unite @Bp4_Canada Teachers had zero impact on whether or not schools stayed open or closed. No one asked us our opinion, nor should they. How exactly did your “four teachers” have any role at all in closing schools? This is simple a lie. I for one worked harder than ever during the pandemic.
@_RachelTerry_ @free_b24436 @WeinsteinEdu Teachers aren’t really held accountable, and I’d argue they really shouldn’t be. Most student failures are due to student effort, or lack thereof. Students aren’t held accountable either-they’re often given their credits by admin and pushed along.
@tnsampson2@jahnanair@FixingEducation This is what most teachers instinctively want to do…step in and help to separate so no one gets hurt. The problem is that Ts no longer feel comfortable doing this for fear of being sued or fired. There isn’t support for Ts if they accidentally hurt a student in the process.
@goat3602@MikeJToronto If educators don’t “complain” as you call it on social media, many people won’t ever hear the truth and reality of life in today’s classroom.
@Darkangel75@JBradshaw01 In HS many students don’t care at all and will just sit in class on their phones. Calling parents doesn’t work, and admin do nothing except tell the students to stop using their phone. There aren’t any consequences, and admin have even told Ts not to send kids down anymore. 🤷♀️
