Advocating across sectors for urgent responses to the climate crisis which deliver health for all. Joining energy, food, transport, cities, climate and health.
Health and Climate Network (HCN) is a community of experts and organisations working together to advocate for health-centred climate policy. We include expertise across sectors, including climate change, energy, transport, cities, food and diet, and health care.

Imagine if heat pumps could make:
🍫chocolate
🥃whiskey
🧀cheese
🍺beer
Good news is they can.
And they decarbonise industrial heat at the same time.
A 🧵 with examples from around the world.
In case you missed it yesterday:
#COP28 has been promoted as 'the most inclusive COP ever'... but it what they meant is that it's the most inclusive for fossil fuel lobbyists.

Compared to what countries pledged in the Paris Agreement, every year, they spend about six times that amount to subsidize fossil fuel consumption, which in turn exacerbates climate change, toxic air pollution, inequality, inefficiency, and mounting debt. https://t.co/dVNy9Y4K5B
The fossil fuel industry is at the heart of the climate crisis.
The problem is not simply fossil fuel emissions. It’s fossil fuels—period.
Countries must progressively phase them out, moving to leave oil, coal & gas in the ground—and massively boost renewable investments.

At #WHA76 taking place this week there is a growing group of countries and CSOs calling for a Resolution on Climate Change and Health to be agreed next year.
The resolution should call for healthy, sustainable diets, a fossil fuel phase out for clean air and health resilience.
The #WHA76 has begun! I am honoured to welcome Health Ministers from around the world to this historic World Health Assembly as we mark the 75th anniversary of @WHO. Together, we continue to work towards #HealthForAll, everywhere!
