@DaReelSebas@IAmFarb there's only 11 games out of the entire ps2 library that are not considered playable, half of them for a defunct mmorpg, which mind you haven't been tested for 5 years and listed on a version that's lightyears behind in terms of compatibility. you can just check for yourself
@IAmFarb wouldn't be worth the effort for sony to try and compete against an emulator that's been developing for over 20 years just to be dogshit in comparison
once the power to create whatever game you want is in the hands of every individual, it'll become glaringly obvious (more than it already was, really) why many people shouldn't be trusted to even Think about getting into game development
video games fucking suck and I'm too old for them but ace combat 8 is the most fun I've had with a game in a while. leaps and bounds better than 7 and it even rivals the PS2 holy trinity
LLMs are genuinely useful as an assistant for programming, or as a search engine on steroids, if you know how to prompt them and not let them do the thinking for you. generative AI and vibe-coded projects will always be slop, though, and AI is still causing far bigger issues IRL
between PDN, ffmpeg using LLMs to find security vulnerabilities and missing backports, and the linux kernel relying on LLMs to find even more CVEs (it's why there's so many of them recently), it's very clear that the AI hate has turned into something performative
One of the big differences between Twitter and Bluesky is that if you mention using AI on Bluesky for any reason you will often get yelled at by dozens of frothing Butlerian Jihadis. I am not nutpicking, the majority of replies and QTs to him over there are like this.
@AntonHand how are you going to conflate an AI slop filter with modding in general? is it because you're still not over that one time someone tried to color correct your game via ReShade? is patching a two-decade old game like bloodlines into a working state anti-art?
