Should SpaceX build a von Neumann probe (self replicating spacecraft)?
Potentially fastest path to explore the galaxy but without humans. It extends the light of consciousness, just not human consciousness.
One thing I learned at SpaceX. Good ideas aren’t worth anything. Lots of people have good ideas, and they are willing to share them. What actually is valuable is the implementation. If you can make a good idea a reality, that is the secret sauce.
There were several times when someone felt guilty about getting credit for implementing someone else’s good idea. Good ideas aren’t worth took 5 seconds to spout out, implementation took 6 months of 12 hour work days and blood sweat and tears. Full credit always goes to the implementer
Back in January, on our Predictions show, my Most Contrarian Take for 2026 was that AI would create more white-collar jobs, rather than destroying them. This week Goldman Sachs’ CEO, Sam and even Dario seemed to agree. The consensus is shifting.
Claude is overall very good right now (I use it heavily), but their nearly $1T valuation is risky. Users could switch to another model almost overnight if another smarter/better AI model emerges for coding or any other specific task. No durable moat since switching models is super easy.
Anthropic needs to solve the computer/power problem or they will be the Friendster of the AI era.
I just ran a semi-complicated stock screening prompt on all four major AIs: Grok, Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude.
The first three returned comparable results. Claude refused to do the work.
Not the way to win guys…
Without this global town square for free speech, a lot of important things never would’ve seen daylight.
Real-time information governments tried to bury. Scientific debate that was actively censored. Voices that would’ve stayed silenced forever.
Respect to @elonmusk for being the man in the arena when it actually counted. 🫡🙏

My #1 feature request for X and the internet as a whole right now is an easy indicator whether an image / video is real or AI generated. I'm sure it's coming. It is critical to the future of the internet.
