11 January 1942 | The number of prisoners in the #Auschwitz#Auschwitz camp during the evening roll call was 11,838 men, including: 9,268 Poles, 1,868 Soviet prisoners of war & 199 Jews.
Corpses of 13 prisoners were transferred to the morgue of the Auschwitz camp. One of the prisoners who perished on that day was a Polish Jew from Nowy Sącz, Jakob Balken (camp no. 24272). He was 30 years old.
