I am asking the government to work with expert, non government agencies to tackle all the issues affecting pets in the UK that have led to the rise in abandonment and cruelty.
Below, one of seven puppies abandoned in the UK last month by a breeder because they had health issues.
They are safe now with New Hope Rescue, Kent.

Got offered to do so many things last year but this was the one that felt most authentic and best way to explain the story of the dogs and the mission
(1/2)
Christmas can be a wonderful time of year but it can also be incredibly tough for people. For so many reasons it can actually be the toughest. There is happiness everywhere and an abundance of excess to be had everywhere you look. I know it’s a time when i always struggled when I was drinking and battling other addictions and demons.
It can seem like you are alone. That the whole world is against you. How can everybody be so happy yet here you are feeling so worthless, down or panic ridden. I just wanted to say that you are not alone and millions of others have the same issues.
The most remarkable thing I ever got for Christmas was a phone call just before I went into ICU. It was a simple humble an unexpected call from someone checking in. It’s why I think it’s important to remember that it’s not designer handbags, PlayStations or iPads that make this time of year. It could be a simple detour to see someone. A 10 minute chat with an old friend that means the world to them. Swallowing your pride to say sorry to someone. It’s the little things. The checking in to let someone know they are not alone.
As for me I’m sad and missing Derek and Jumbo is very ill beside me as I write this but I’m also optimistic. I’ve lots of dogs to look after, I’m forcing myself to be social and have not 1 but 2 Christmas meals with friends and I love the life I have. I’m lucky and humble about that now because it wasn’t always that way.
Maybe one person who needs to see this will. It’s just a time of year. If you are having it tough you are not alone. If you are doing well yourself have a little check in with somebody you know probably needs it 🙏🥰
Saving 1000s Of Dogs Thanks To You 🥰🙏🐶
One person can save a few dogs and do some good on their own doorstep but to save dogs around the world at scale you need any army of people.
You might see my videos feeding street dogs from a moped and get a little smile but I wanted to explain the scope and breath of what is being built. What this movement actually looks like…
287 Sterilisations In September ✂️🐕
In 2022 I managed to sterilise a grand total of 302 dogs. That took me 9 months to do as I was catching them myself and bringing them to the vets.
🔵In the month of September alone I’ve been able to fund the sterilisation of 287.
🔵Since the mission started it is 1700.
🔵I have 4 different partners now helping including the first in Bali (below)
It’s hard to explain just how much effort this takes, how many people are involved and the logistics. The action of all those people mean 1000s of unwanted puppies will never be born into suffering.
This is the live map of our sterilisations. Just imagine every dot on there is saving dozens of lives.

200,000 Meals Served So Far This Year 🥘
Feeding 800 dogs out on the streets and in shelters is not easy. This is the part that takes the most collaboration. I fund it but it also involves…
🔵Thai lady and her 2 helpers cooking
🔵A friend who helps with the logistics and planning (shopping etc)
🔵Delivery man getting the food out daily around the island
🔵10 Different volunteers and locals who hand the food out
The end result is that we’ve just served the 200,000th meal of the year. Each street dog has a healthy and freshly cooked meal every single day packed full of goodness. A real team effort.
Some Special Dogs Re-Homed Around The World ✈️
Re-homing dogs might not be the long term solution to saving street dogs but it changes the world for that one dog. For every single individual dog that does get a forever home it often takes 20-30 people to get it there (from rescue to the final journey). There have been some very special dogs in September…
🔵Brad Pitt. I'm super proud to say that Brad became the first dog to reach America when he touched down in Los Angeles after an epic journey via Japan. He is settling in superbly with his 2 new human and 2 cat friends.
🔵Buttons. Yes the Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher did adopt little Buttons. What I love most about it is not just the fact that Buttons got an amazing forever home but that it shows that adopting is a great way for anybody to go.
🔵Num. After being too soft for the streets little Num made it to England with me on the journey with Buttons. While it nearly killed me physically the 2 dogs handled it superbly. Num could not be happier in her new home.
Dozens Of Dogs Lives Saved With Vet Treatment 💊
While the detailed planning has started for Tina’s hospital we still need to treat dogs on a daily basis. Myself and the people who help me spend a lot of time in the vets. Without them we would have lost many lives. A couple of examples…
🔵Hank the Tank who arrived yesterday and who needed life saving wound cleaning. His story shows how many people it takes to save one dog.
🔵The 2 puppies who were in the vets for 15 days clinging to their little lives in Isolation with Parvo. They somehow made it and are back at the land and will be looking for homes soon.
One key element are the vets, helpers, people who drive, people who give out medicines and all the other caring dog lovers on the ground.
The other key is people online who chip in and help individual dogs with their treatments. Along with kind vets giving me discounted rates this means so many more lives can be saved and suffering eased.
5 Other Random Great Things Happening 🌴🐶🥳
There are so many great dog things happening right now that it is hard to keep up. Here are a quick selection…
🔵McMuffin met her daughter and grand daughter before flying to Germany to her forever home. I’d say her recovery journey involves 50 people.
🔵Stitch came to live at the land as he starts the search for a forever home
🔵Cindy Crawford arrived and started her diet. She has half the world willing her on every step of the way
🔵People gave me 100s of presents for all the individual dogs including bandanas, toys and special custom blankets
🔵The book I wrote has been bought by 1000s of people all over the world. I’ll be using every single penny of that to help fund Tina’s hospital. (Available here https://t.co/1eZD4EVlhc)
People Make This Possible 🙏🥰
There are about 50 other big things going on that I’ve yet to share that involve people helping the dogs. What I wanted to do with this update was try and give a sense that this is about so much more than just me. People from all over the world want to help dogs and join this mission. I feel and see that every single day.
I wrote this week about having anxiety and depression. I think it was a mixture of burnout, grief (for Snoop and Tina) and feeling the pressure of so much expectation on my shoulders. There are so many good things happening but it can be quite daunting at times. What I’m trying to do as you can see above is spread the load and get as many people involved as possible. I know many others are itching to help too and I promise I’m building out more ways for that to happen.
This was a week where I felt the support and love from around the world in 1000 different ways. When I was laying in my dark room doing my breathing trying to get the anxiety to pass I felt that support like a huge wave of positivity. Now as I sit here writing this doing much better and looking at the great things happening for the dogs I only have one feeling and that is to push on and deliver on the full potential of this mission. Thank you.
Big Love
Niall
