This was my parents 1st day grocery shopping in the US. 🤣
Showed up to the store 30 minutes before opening & confused why there wasn't a queue forming at the doors.
They step in & pass by the rotisserie chicken display. They're shocked at how cheap it is "These will be sold out in the next hour! We have to buy!" They immediately buy 10+ chickens (they left like 1 or 2, haha) & leave the store right away without buying anything else to avoid "running into other customers who want chicken & get mad at us for taking so many."
They stock the freezer with chicken & go back to the store an hour later to finish shopping.
The chicken display is fully restocked again. My mom cried & hugged my dad.
@Dinkeldash@CatImperator She played a central role during the reign of Tiberius but not for Nero. She had died during the reign of Tiberius & Nero was born about 8 years after she died. Between the reigns of Tiberius & Nero were two other emperors (Caligula & Claudius).
@Wiz_Daphne_en I'm getting a weird bug after the update where after starting the app on my phone, my screen stays black & I don't get the title screen. When I tap on the black screen, I still get the "touched screen" effect (screenshot below), but nothing loads.
I absolutely love teaching as a profession, but the teachers union's #1 goal = keep all teachers hired no matter what (fewer teachers = less union dues); bettering educational outcomes for students is a distant second. In fact, if kids keep getting stupider, then they can use "We need more money to make these kids un-stupid! If you deny us, then you hate kids!"
Another big factor are the teacher's unions: they need to be abolished.
I think public sector unions (i.e. unions of folks who are paid by the taxpayer) are unethical because politicians are incentivized to give those unions whatever they want to route more tax dollars to them, & then those unions immediately turn around & give a portion of those funds back to the politician in campaign donations. I'm totally okay with private sector unions because negotiations happen directly with the stakeholders who have to take a pay cut if they want to give more to the unions.
@NaCl_Sipr@Namel9090@memeslich Not a flail made of seashells; my understanding was that they had women with individual shells slowly scraping away his skin manually over the course of hours & throwing it into the fire in front of his eyes.
Depends on the objective.
If the goal is to glass the country, sure, we can beat them.
But lessons learned from Iraq are being implemented now. De-Ba'athification (i.e. banning all former Hussein government officials from office) ended up creating ISIS. New solution: take out regime leadership & wait for country to collapse on its own w/out putting boots on the ground.
Will this be a viable strategy? Who knows. But timetable will be much longer. I think Iran will likely fragment into a few countries.
No, I'm saying putting your fingers in your mouth is unhygienic, & that's true whether you do it ro eat rice or lick cheato dust. If you're eating by yourself, there's no social norms you need to adhere to, but western social norms are observed in the west when you're eating in public. Stop flinging the race card. 🤣
@ace_9292@CynicalPublius The issue is when your fingers go into your mouth, get saliva on them, & then you dig your fingers back into the food with your dirty fingers.
@ShamashAran If the dude actually had kids, he should have brought them with him, handed cash to each of them, and have them stand in line one at a time to purchase for themselves. C'mon.
You're not a mind-reader, Telsee.
If Talarico - the white guy in OP's post - ate the same way Mamdani did, it would have been considered just as socially "dirty." That's why I said race had nothing to do with it. If I WAS a racist who thought "brown people are dirty," then I'd take an issue with him eating pizza, a hotdog, or anything in general where he wasn't using utensils.
