Will have far-reaching consequences

- Even fewer women in the workforce as girls (and/or their parents) bend over backwards to avoid such (possible) situations

- Even less reporting of sexual harassment and predation (and yes, this is the answer to all those who ask why a woman does not report harassment or reported late)

- The example that will be cited for all time to come: if even a national heroine could not get justice after fighting for months, what hope is there for the common woman.

- And for those who want an economic angle, no country in the world has transitioned up the income ladder without the participation of women on a very large scale. We are already pretty much at the bottom end on this. Further nail in the coffin.
