For my seminar, I've asked students to sit and look at the same tree for an hour each week then write for 15 to 20 minutes. In the instructions, I wrote, "become the tree's biographer." (The whole poetry course is organized around trees)
When you're writing fiction, you face constant up-front rejection, which helps you sharpen your craft and eventually get published.
When marketing, you're ensured "publication", but rejection (by the audience or your company) holds dire consequences.

Once an idea reaches a large enough audience, it tends to become stale, predictable, boring. The goal of #marketing is to reach the largest possible audience while remaining fresh.

Recommence carnage.
