Today, the final negotiations on Chat Control 2.0 begin between the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of the EU.

Although the requirement for mandatory scanning (including end-to-end encrypted messaging services) has been removed, several problematic elements remain in the Council's position. For instance, the Council wants to demand identity verification to use messaging services (including end-to-end encrypted). This would pose significant risks to dissidents, whistleblowers, and others, and create a chilling effect on free speech.

We hope the European Parliament stands firm against any wording that paves the way for mass surveillance and censorship. Cyprus, currently holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU, aims to conclude the negotiations by June.

@steipete @melvynx Is it not the same model? Trying out opencode with codex now. Feels a bit slower but I like that I can plan a bit and gather my thoughts instead of codex just jumping straight in and changing stuff.

@badlogicgames Are you allowed since the document can be manipulated later? I am looking at an agent for just keeping my time and then having a skill to my bookkeeping software API generate invoices so all bookkeeping keep contained and legal.

@GergelyOrosz I feel this is one of the biggest gains for me. Doing stuff that otherwise wouldn't be done.
I added charts to https://t.co/bWuqXjU3gN using gpt5-codex. Wasn't perfect but I had charts. Then I iterate over the coming days. Added all EU prices, an explorer and improved the charts

@dhh @ClumsyDonkey And be without it while I wait weeks for technician, spare parts or external repair.
If you can't find a fix for under 50 % of the price of a new I just get a new one and pick it up in a store.
Fixed the dryer and dishwasher a couple of times but only mechanical stuff.

@dhh @ClumsyDonkey Eco modes are the worst. Wanna clean your dishes. How about 6 hours! Everytime I get a new appliance I have to figure out how to make it work well and fast.
I only get midrange products. Fixing a broken miele cost as much as buying a new midrange one.

My current is a 2021 M1 Macbook pro. But I also habe a left over M1 Air.
installing Omarchy on a beelink today but have been thinking about what to carry around to meetings. The M1 Air would be perfect!
