Banning AI in classrooms only shifts where students open the tab. They end up in their bedrooms using it alone.
Students with someone at home walking them through tools build real judgment. Kids figuring it out by themselves just end up copying answers.
@samongaro_ not everyone can detach from the solution they think is best to build with the problem as the anchor.
even after filtering out the people who want comfort, dont have the skills, dont mind sacrificing time and money, many fail because of this
@HeyAnjula great toolstack, but tbh the friction in a services or marketplace business is rarely generating marketing assets or PRDs. the hard part is handling exceptions when human operations get messy. AI runs the happy path but founders still have to absorb the chaos.
@ThisIsBhandari as a non-technical founder this has been my biggest unlock tbh. nowadays you can find open source for so many things, claude can code for you. the bottleneck is now operational clarity: do people actually want this delivered to their door, and will they pay for it twice?
@Will_Schryver ai and automation sounds awesome and whatever but we run a team of tutors across the city but use AI heavily only for scheduling and matching. we tried AI tutors but it's not the same as a real life tutor there with your kid. people still protect the margin
@chiefclanker@jessegenet@madebydia running Kindu down in Colombia @herazozzz! we focus on near-peer tutoring using AI to build critical thinking rather than using it as an autocomplete crutch. glad to see more people highlighting practitioners who actually sit with kids every week instead of just talking theory
Most tutoring fails because kids don't want another adult telling them what to study.
When I tutored families in Medellín, the shift happened the second they saw I was just an older student doing cool things. Near-peer mentorship does what private instruction can't.
Parents hire tutors and say they need homework help. What they actually mean: my kid has lost motivation and I need someone who can get them excited again.
I tutored in homes across Medellín for over a year before I caught on. Now it's why Kindu exists.
When I was tutoring in living rooms across Medellín, parents booked sessions for math or French.
What actually changed grades was having an older student walk through the door, someone the kid wanted to emulate. That is the whole premise behind Kindu.
