Breaking News: Over 700,000 Americans have died of Covid-19. This pandemic is the deadliest in U.S. history, overtaking the toll from the influenza pandemic of 1918 and 1919. Every age group under 55 saw its highest death toll of the pandemic this August. https://t.co/mNP4pysUKq
Trigger warning: COVID death.
Hi Jane. This is Dr. Bakshi calling from Edmonton. I am not sure if you're aware, but your mom Anne was admitted to the COVID ward about 2 hours ago. I'm calling because she is not doing well, and will likely not survive the day."
@KikkiPlanet Sort of curious…since Covid started with cases from travel why are we still allowing flights out of Alberta to other parts of Canada? Positivity at 11%. Um @JustinTrudeau it’s time to put in place that mandatory vax to travel initiative. Yesterday.
@geoffreyyork@zchagla It also doesn’t help when we grade vaccines and find countries questioning efficacy simply because of underlying geopolitical issues re: SputnikV, sinopharm/vac, Covaxin. Surely any vaccine is better than no vaccine at all.
@RosieBarton@TOAdamVaughan Constituents either can’t be bothered to research candidates or they are voting purely for leadership. Either way, the outcome is a sad state of affairs; for women, for taxpayers, for the political process.
This is the actual risk of indoor dining with passports.
An analysis that assumes poor ventilation and a superspreader event.
If you aren’t comfortable with these risks, that’s okay.
Let’s not throw in unmeasurable, hypothetical things like “fake passports.”
Transportation is the largest source of planet-warming greenhouse gases in the U.S. today.
Here’s how much CO2 comes from passenger and freight traffic every year in a metro area near you. https://t.co/lwAv8aJPDu
@Vj_Nithya @British_Airways You need a PCR test in a third country and the UK does not have this in place for connecting passengers. Book direct flights.
@RosieBarton Love your show Rosie but why are candidates allowed on tonight before ridings close across the country. Clearly Joly is campaigning here; which is not allowed. @melaniejoly
@WesternU Campus police are a joke of an organization on almost every campus I’ve ever visited.
Look at your org structure.
Look at the lack of management on weekends and evenings.
Look at putting in place 3rd party ombudspeople.
@TheCurrentCBC @mattgallowaycbc @WesternU @CarinaGabriele_ @farrahsafiakhan Listening to Alan Shepard now. As an alum I’m appalled at his response. Where is the “it’s unacceptable and I’m sorry?”
@globeandmail Changing the gender violence on campus requires universities to acknowledge they are running 24 hr/day businesses. Ones that shouldn’t be managed by 20 year olds after 5pm. (2/2)
@globeandmail But there is also an organizational structure problem, on all campuses. Dons and RLC staff are often in their 20s and are ill equipped with appropriate training and don’t know how to triage issues as senior management is nowhere to be found on weekends and evenings. (1/2)
