Blue's dictation is unlike anything you've ever tried before.
Instead of transcribing what you say, we give ChatGPT the audio and we ask it: "Based on what this person said, what do you think they would have typed if they had a chance to review and edit?"
That means you can think out loud, repeat yourself, change your mind mid-sentence, and Blue still hands you something that’s ready to send.
So what happens when dictation finally becomes reliable? Not just better dictation for the 1% of the time your hands are tied up and you have to dictate. You start defaulting to dictation every single time you have to type, and you end up saving a ton of time!

Introducing the Blue Smart Dictation Keyboard for iPhone! 4x faster when you can speak, normal keyboard when you can't.

So what happens when dictation finally becomes reliable? Not just better dictation for the 1% of the time your hands are tied up and you have to dictate. You start *defaulting* to dictation every single time you have to type on your phone.
4 weeks ago, my wife and a dozen other people would almost never ever use voice input. Now? They’re dictating almost 1000 words every single day.
First 3 months free when you make Blue your default and get rid of all your other keyboards!

It's an honor. But the people who deserve recognition are the team.
Hundreds of prototypes to get here. Congrats to the team.

I got the @heyBlueX AI device, it’s a little USB dongle that plugs into your phone which acts like accessibility mouse so it’s able to tap your phone as if you’re using it. You just ask it to do things and it figures out what is on the screen and performs actions automatically while you just watch.
A couple of examples it did for me:
- I asked it to process a clothes return for me, it went into my emails, searched for the order to get the order number then opened the website via browser, clicked through each step and got the USPS return QR which it then screenshot so I could easily pull it up when I got to the post office.
- I asked it to file a Delaware LLC franchise tax today, it went into my google drive app to find a document with the company ID, then went to the Delaware website, navigated through the options, completed the “I’m not a robot” capture, then competed what must be one of the worst janky forms on the internet, then I asked it to open the Robinhood banking app to get my credit card details which it did no problem then switched back to the Delaware site to complete payment then saved the confirmation to the correct google drive folder. All while I just watched.
Yes I’m sure a VPS AI agent could do this for me but there is something about just watching your phone while AI uses it for you and you just observe and see it happening, clarifying instructions along the way. You also don’t need to give it tools access or permissions, it’s just using whatever apps are on your phone while you watch.
Magic
You can now automate almost anything you can do on your iPhone with Blue.
Now, every night at ~2 am, @OmarAbcXyz123 has set up Blue to go through any work credit card expenses he has, find the receipt in the Gmail app, Amazon, Uber, etc., and upload it to the expenses app w/ a note on whatI bought!
What will you automate?

YC says if someone's hair is on fire, they'll buy a brick from you to put it out.
@heyBlueX is not perfect yet, but for users like Waleed that have difficulty using their hands, this is 10x better than anything else out there for controlling an iPhone handsfree.
Work hands-free, with Blue.
Powered by a small device called Bud, Blue can control any app on your iPhone.

How do you build HW as fast as SW?
By building more of it.
The software design approach is to quickly iterate on ideas.
So, why not do that for HW?
Keep testing ideas until you're left with something you're proud of.
We tested 100s of shapes and sizes for @heyBlueX
Blue (@heyBlueX) lets you control your phone’s apps by voice so tasks actually get finished, hands-free.
It handles messages, email, and actions across apps by tapping and typing as you would.

Blue is the only voice assistant on iOS and Android that can control every app on your phone, so you can get work done hands-free.
At launch, Blue will be best at messaging and email. And not just the default Messages app, all messaging apps.
