@getdeadlink lets one person run a whole team of drones on a search at once. the hard part is when one drops mid-mission, so i built it to catch that, hand the drone's area to another one, and finish the search with a record of what got covered.
works in simulation. this grant puts it on real hardware, where motors actually fail and gps actually drifts.

im 17 and i moved to sf alone to fix the thing that killed my best friend.
two years ago he died in a building collapse in india. rescue took three days to search the rubble. drones were there, but every drone needed its own pilot and nobody had one picture of what was searched. he was alive under there for part of it.
so i built software where one person runs an entire robot fleet. if a machine dies mid job, the nearest one picks up its unfinished work. everything logged and replayable so you can prove what got done instead of guessing.
turns out every robot fleet hits this wall. my first paid pilot is a mining robotics company.
my grandma got alzheimers. we didnt realize it at first, we just thought she was getting forgetful
turns out the disease starts a decade before first symptoms. years where we could actually do something about it
anyway thats what im working on now. moved to sf a few weeks ago to build it 😄

watched a bunch of founders pitch back-to-back last week and the polished ones started blending together really fast
the people i remembered could just explain what was broken and what they had actually done about it
i probably need to make my own pitch less impressive and more true
best advice i got last week:
stop trying to solve month three.
close week one.
so that is the sprint now:
get @getdeadlink into one real operating context with one real team.
a signed pilot solves more than any meeting ever will.
